SAMITE brand talcum powder can be applied as functional filler, improve permanent deformation rate of fracture, elongation, breaking strength, tear strength and harness for rubber products. Additionally, the talcum powder can be a substitute filler for carbon black, which not only has similar strengthen effectiveness to carbon black, but also improve heat resistance of rubber.

1. It is irrational to determine the high purity of talc from Fe2O3<1% Whiteness>90% SiO2>60% and LOI<7%. In talc industry many impurities ingredient from talc may cause a False Appearance such as talc with high purity. An instance is High-calcium contained talc at 92% Whiteness the real talc ingredient may be from 30% to 60% only. Another example is High wollastonite ingredient may lead SiO2 percentage is close to theoretical result of talc but the real talc ingredient may be less than 40%. All the impurities from above are not in Piece Structure obviously it is hard to bring positive functional effect as pure talc.

2. For rubber the finer talcum powder is the better strengthen effectiveness.

3. For functionally modifying we recommended Ignition loss of talc less than 7% usually the lower LOI ratio the purer talc is. Piece structure is an important source for functional strengthen impurities from talc (except chlorite) are not in piece structure. Additionally the metallic impurities will cause a serious damage to insulation of rubber products.

4. The consistency between talcum powder and high polymer is poor since the nature of talcum is inorganic compound whereas polymer is organic. We recommend our client to have an advance surface treatment to talcum powder by coupling reagent such as aluminic ester agent etc.
